Any playoff game is emotional and intense, but that emotion and intensity increases in the Stanley Cup Final.
As much as some players want to go out and set the tone by hitting everything in sight, most (if not all) players have that mutual respect for one another and we saw that Wednesday night.
Ahead of Game 2 during warmups, Alex Ovechkin skated by Marc-Andre Fleury and gave him a tap on the pads which is basically like saying "good luck."
When the puck drops, it's all about winning if you're a Capitals or Golden Knights player, but that doesn't mean you can't go all out to win without respecting your opponent.
Plus, Fleury and Ovi have been through their fair share of battles against each other in the playoffs over the years and battling in the playoffs builds up that respect.
Unfortunately for Ovechkin and the Caps, the Golden Knights struck first in Game 2 and it's going to be difficult for them to even the series based on Vegas' record when scoring first.
