If there ever was a time for an NBA player to sip on a beer during a game, then St. Patrick's Day would be the day.
During Sunday's matinee game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks, Mike Scott emersed himself with the Philly faithful even though he was playing in Milwaukee's Fiserv Forum.
Scott chased down a loose ball that was heading for the front row. Scott was successful in making the sure didn't go out of bounds, but smashed right into the first two rows courtside. Submerged in a group of fans who broke his fall, Scott saw that one fan was enjoying an (overpriced) beverage, and obviously thought: "hey, it's St. Paddy's Day, why not take a sip?"
And that's exactly what he did.
Scott was brought in from the Clippers to help with the team's shooting, but he couldn't quite drain the drink there.
That sip was probably worth two dollars, right? No athlete ever wants to get thirsty out on the court, no matter if it's water, beer, wine or a mixed drink.
