There's not a more ridiculous goal in soccer than the rare back-heel scorpion-kick goal.
It may be the equivalent of a between-the-legs goal in hockey, but we see that goal so often that it's probably not a fair comparison.
Of course, on the first day of 2017, the sports world was graced with an incredible back-heel scorpion-kick goal, courtesy of Olivier Giroud of Arsenal.
How do you describe that goal better than the commentators did? Answer, you don't.
We know it's early and there is still an entire year to go, but this probably will be goal of the year, and we're not afraid to say that on the first day of 2017.
That being said, was it better than this goal from Henrikh Mkhitaryan's similar style tally for Manchester United?
