Mark this down as one of the worst pitching performances you’ll ever come across.
Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy absolutely got lit up against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. He lasted only seven batters, and allowed four home runs in the very first inning.
The shocker? All without recording a single out.
Here’s a visual recap of it all.
At least there wasn’t too many fans in Baltimore to witness the beat down.
Here’s a couple jaw dropping stats and tweets that will really put into context just how forgettable the outing really was.
Yikes.
The final line: zero innings, zero strikeouts, seven earned runs, five hits, four home runs, two walks, while throwing only 13 strikes on 28 pitches.
Coming into the game, Bundy had a 3.76 ERA in seven starts, which is not bad at all, although his last few have been less than ideal, as you saw above.
After this nightmare, his ERA now sits a 5.31. Ouch. It doesn’t help when the Orioles came into the game with a recoerd of 8-26, and before even being able to blink, they were well on their way to their 27th loss of the season in their 35th game.
It’s been a tough year in Baltimore, and the timing is particularly unfortunate considering all-star Manny Machado is a free agent at seasons end. Baltimore has just three wins in their last 21 outings, and are about to extend their losing streak to seven games.
Games like these don’t help the Orioles' case in locking up Machado to an extension.
