Kawhi Leonard and DeMar DeRozan stole basically every headline in sports yesterday and it appears as if NBA 2K wanted in on the action.
Early in the day 2K released DeRozan’s rating and alluded to the fact that Kawhi’s would come shortly after. DeRozan came in at an 89 rating (Which some people were upset with considering Jayson Tatum was an 87). He was an 89 last year as well, so considering he basically added a three-point shot to his game, it’s hard to see how he didn’t go up in rating at all.
If this rating is any indication, the Raptors made a serious upgrade in the 2K world.
Players seem to take a serious interest in the ratings, so we have no doubt this will be motivation for DeMar as he joins the Spurs.
In the past, he was happy with his 89 rating, but we’re not so sure he’ll feel that way in the future.
