NASCAR drivers were struggling with their umbrellas, leading to hilarious Twitter banter

With NASCAR returning to action last week, it was a little bit of a different look. With COVID-19 precautions changing how things were operated, there were no fans and only essential crew members, racetrack staff, and media there.

Apparently umbrella handlers didn’t fall into the “essential” category, although maybe they should have. And yes, we did make up “umbrella handlers”.

The first video features Alex Bowman seemingly helping Jimmie Johnson to understand his umbrella, while the second shows Clint Bowyer’s umbrella absolutely giving out on him. As you may expect, this led to some pretty funny Twitter banter from some of those involved and beyond.
