The Minnesota Vikings got off to a hot start this season but after rookie running back Dalvin Cook went down with a season-ending injury during Week 4 against the Detroit Lions. However, the downward spiral never happened and now they find themselves in a position to clinch a spot in the Super Bowl.
Since this is the furthest the Vikings have made it since the 2009 season when they lost 31-28 in overtime to the New Orleans Saints, the support for the team has been through the roof over the past few weeks, especially since they have a shot to play for the Super Bowl at home.
On Saturday night, the Minnesota Wild hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning and the fans in attendance showed some love for the Vikings by starting a Skol chant in the middle of the game.
The Wild players also showed some love for the Vikings, including Zach Parise who rocked a NFC North Champs hat during his interview during the first intermission.
Wild defenceman Nate Prosser scored the eventual game-winning goal and earned the first star of the night, so he used his quick lap after the game to get another quick Skol chant going.
Itβs a good thing the Wild are off on Sunday because all eyes in Minnesota will be on the Vikings.
