Many people believe that Mike Babcock is the best coach in the game of hockey today. He saw a ton of success standing behind the bench of the Detroit Red Wings for 10 years, including a Stanley Cup back in 2008, and he has also been a key figure in the Toronto Maple Leafs revival. On top of his NHL success, he is the only coach to join the Triple Gold Club, which is made up of at least one Stanley Cup, an IIHF World Championship, and an Olympic gold medal.

Generally speaking, when Babs talks, people listen. And when asked about Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby, and whether or not he was the best player in the league, Babcock went straight to the point.

He didn’t stop there either. Babcock went in depth on how Sid the Kid has managed to cultivate a winning culture both as a young player and a veteran.

While some people believe that Crosby is now second best with the emergence of Oilers’ forward Connor McDavid, Babs isn’t buying it. Crosby is top dog in his books, and he’s not the only one.
