James Harrison became one of the most beloved Pittsburgh Steelers of all-time during his time with the franchise, but that all came to end when he joined the New England Patriots earlier this week.
Harrison spent 14 of his 15 NFL seasons with the Steelers, but his time in Pittsburgh came to an end on December 23, 2017, when the team released him. Three days after his release he became an official member of the Patriots.
There have been all sorts of reports as to why the Steelers decided to cut the franchise’s all-time sacks leader right before the postseason, but the players are not buying any of it.
Instead, they’re calling out Harrison for not only wanting out of Pittsburgh but for signing with the Pats of all teams.
Steelers centre Maurkice Pouncey did not hold back during his time with the media and blasted his former teammate for lying about his release and mentioned that he ruined his legacy in Pittsburgh by joining New England.
Outside linebacker Bud Dupree also spoke up about the situation and put it entirely on Harrison.
The people in Pittsburgh certainly aren’t happy with Harrison’s decision to leave the Steelers and join the Patriots, but New England fans are certainly happy with his choice. Especially actor and producer Mark Wahlberg.
It's going to be interesting if the Steelers and the Patriots meet up in the playoffs this season.
