One of the questions fans like to know when their favourite team trades for a player is what number will that player wear.

Ottawa fans, for example, were probably curious about what number Matt Duchene would be rocking with his new team after the Senators traded for him Sunday night because Bobby Ryan wears No. 9.

As many hockey fans know, Duchene was a huge Avalanche fan growing up, so his second choice would have been No. 19 for Joe Sakic, as he explained Monday at his introductory press conference.

Derick Brassard is 19 though, so Duchene had to pick a whole different number entirely and he settled on 95.  The number is significant as he wanted to combine 5 and 9, two numbers he wore growing up as a kid.

Duchene is the first player in Senators history to wear the number, the 7th player in NHL history to rock 95 and he's now one of two players currently wearing the number (Justin Bailey, Sabres).
