In his Toronto Blue Jays debut, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. lived up to the hype with a pivotal lead-off double in the bottom of the ninth. After the game, Marcus Stroman was already throwing around big comparisons, likening Vladdy Jr. to Duke’s Zion Williamson.
Zion has yet to play a game in the NBA yet, but he’s almost certainly going to be the top pick in this year’s draft, and the expectations are sky-high. Impact aside, the hype factor may be the biggest similarity between Vladdy Jr. and Zion — these are just youngsters that have folks so, so excited.
