Marcus Stroman had a tough year playing for the Toronto Blue Jays and there have been some rumours swirling about his future with the team.
This all starts with a tweet from Jon Morosi in which he stated that the Blue Jays were not engaged in serious trade talks for Marcus Stroman, but he then linked the Reds to the Jays as a team with interest in Stroman. That obviously started a lot of speculation online, so much so that Stroman felt like he should address the rumours on Twitter.
It’s a bizarre topic for Stroman to weigh in on, because as we saw with DeMar DeRozan, it’s not really up to the player if they stay or not. It would make sense if the rumour was about him asking for a trade, but nobody has suggested that.
If the Reds really did have interest in Stroman, we have a good idea of who Jays fans might have their eye on.
