If there’s one thing we’ve learned in professional baseball over the years it’s that absolutely no one is safe. One year you can be considered one of the most exciting and dominant players in the league and the following year you can find yourself atop the trade bait board.
With Major League Baseball’s offseason in full swing, players are changing teams in a hurry and there’s still plenty more moves to come. On Wednesday night, ESPN’s Buster Olney reported that the Cincinnati Reds have some interest in Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman and it caught the eye of the starting pitcher.
Stroman didn’t respond to Olney’s tweet or even tweet out anything of his own in regards to the rumours, but he did like Olney’s tweet and another one related to him being dealt out of town.
However, it’s all just speculation right now as no deal is in place between the two clubs.
As for the 27-year-old, he’s made it clear on many occasions that he loves being a Blue Jay and living in Toronto and even shared this on his Instagram account around the time that the original report came out.
In five MLB seasons, Stroman owns a 41-34 record and 536 strikeouts over 665 innings of work, as well as a 3.91 ERA and 1.287 WHIP.
