The San Diego Padres made Manny Machado a very rich man in the offseason, signing the star free agent to a 10-year, $300 million contract. And then, Machado made Blooper of the Braves a very rich mascot on Wednesday β but not by choice. Instead, he was bamboozled!
It took Machado until late February to get the offer he wanted in free agency. Blooper needed only 15 seconds.
That rascal, Blooper. Hoodwinking Machado out of the richest contracts in baseball history! If you earn that contract with your play, then itβs safe to say you deserve it. How about if you prank a guy out of $300 million? Maybe that should be allowed, too. It would certainly add a new layer to Machadoβs rivalry with Blooper.
These two have been getting into all kinds of hijinks over the last few days, with the Padres in Atlanta for a four-game series.
