The Colorado Avalanche enter play Friday night in the first wild card spot, but there's frustration from the players and coaches due to a 2-6-2 record over the team's last 10 games.
The latest loss was to the Flames and in the final seconds of that loss, Nathan MacKinnon and head coach Jared Bednar got into a heated exchange on the bench. MacKinnon hadn't commented on what happened after the game, but he did on Friday and took responsibility for his actions.
When you feel like you've played well enough to not be in a slump and are losing games, it can be very frustrating. The Avs are clearly in that place right now, but the good news is they are still in a playoff spot and they've got another opportunity to get back in the win column Saturday in Montreal.
