The 1991 draft was one that changed hockey forever.
Eric Lindros, a prospect from the Oshawa Generals at the time, was the consensus number one pick, and luckily for the Quebec Nordiques, they were picking first for the third consecutive year.
Unfortunately for the Nordiques, Lindros didn't want to go to Quebec, and while he was in fact taken first overall, he never played a game for the franchise and didn't even don the team's jersey once he was selected. He even reportedly rejected a $50 million deal from the team that drafted him.
Every hockey fan knows happened next. Lindros was traded to Philadelphia in a historic deal and he'd go on to have a Hall of Fame career.
Nearly 26 years after he refused to wear Quebec's jersey on draft night, Lindros wore the uniform on CBC Radio-Canada's "Tout le monde en parle."
Lindros appeared on the show we imagine to discuss the events that transpired in 1991, and the episode according to the website will air Sunday night.
We're not sure how Quebec fans feel about the picture, but we think it's a really cool moment. With Lindros going back to Quebec and wearing the uniform, the only thing left is for the Nordiques to return now.
