The Tampa Bay Lightning and the New Jersey Devils went head-to-head at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, last weekend and it turned out to be quite the battle.

Just under five minutes into the second period Lightning defenceman Andrej Sustr stepped up for Vladislav Namestnikov after he was drilled face first into the boards by Miles Wood, but it didn’t end well for the 27-year-old.

Sustr’s visor ended up shattering in his face during the scrap and left him pretty bloody, but that didn’t force him to leave the game entirely.

Although Ondrej Palat happened to snap a photo of his teammate after he got stitched up, Sustr shared before and after photos on his social media platforms on Wednesday and added a humorous caption to the post.

Sustr was cut up pretty badly on the play and the after photo shows just how badly he was cut.

Considering he ended up getting cut pretty close to his eye he’s probably just happy the outcome wasn’t a lot worse. His modeling career may be over but his NHL career is still going strong.
