NBA All-Star Weekend is a time of year for players across the league to come together and give fans a show to remember. Given the NBA’s trade/free agent drama over the past few years, the event has had a tad of drama added to it. Last year, every basketball fan was eager to see how the encounter between former teammates Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant would play out after the latter dipped for Golden state in free agency. Westbrook repeatedly displayed his displeasure with Durant’s decision, but the two seemed to patch things up after participating on the same All-Star team.

This time around, everyone’s attention is aimed towards team captain LeBron James and Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving. The 25-year-old made his way to Boston after reportedly being unhappy playing for the Cavs. LeBron didn’t seem to take Irving’s decision too much to heart, though, considering he selected him as his All-Star team’s point guard. Ahead of the game, the two were seen catching up like old pals.
James reflected on his time with Irving earlier in the week, stating:

Basketball is a business, and players need to do what they see fit as the best situation for them self. It’s just nice to see that the two sueprstars were able to put their differences behind them and focus on their reunion on the court.
