Something came over the St. Louis Blues when the calendar flipped to 2019. From dead last in the league on January 2nd, the Blues pulled off an unprecedented run to the Stanley Cup Final, where they eventually disposed of the Boston Bruins to take home their franchise first Stanley Cup.

While goaltending, coaching, and an underdog attitude all helped their cause, many of the Blues players will attribute their success to their good luck charm Laila Anderson.

Laila lives with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a life-threatening condition where a patient’s immune system attacks the host’s tissues and organs. Now completed her treatment, she was able to enjoy every last moment of the Blues’ historic run.

During the parade, FOX Sports Midwest managed to get a word with the special girl.

You can bet Laila will be the Blues number one supporter as the team begins their Cup defence in October. Even if she doesn’t bring the luck to them, she’ll always be a charm.
