The Cleveland Cavaliers are without a doubt the team to beat in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.
After taking care of the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday night, the Cavs improved to 9-0 in this year’s postseason.
The well-rested Cavs came out flying in this one as they led 30-19 after the first quarter and extended that lead to 22 as they went into halftime leading 61-39.
Despite outscoring the Cavs 65-56 in the second half, it wasn’t enough for the Celtics to actually complete the comeback. Late in the game, Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving decided to rub some salt in the wound and reminded Isaiah Thomas to take a look at the scoreboard.
Thomas is clearly saying “Don’t do that” to Irving, but the Cavs point guard goes ahead and does it anyway.
This most likely sparked something inside of Thomas, but he’s going to need his teammates to step up as well if the Celtics stand a chance against the defending NBA champions.
