Trade rumours are always stirring in the NBA, especially ones including some of the biggest names in the game.
Over the past year multiple reporters and analysts predicted that Anthony Davis would be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in the near future. However, that all changed the night of the draft lottery when the Pelicans jumped all the way up the board and secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Now the Lakers are exploring other options with the offseason quickly approaching and one of the latest names linked to the franchise is Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry.
According to Sean Deveney of the Sporting News, Lowry and Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal are on the Lakers’ watch list this summer.
The Lakers have other players they’re targeting in trades, according to league sources. Chief among them is Wizards guard Bradley Beal, though with the Wizards not yet hiring a front office honcho, no decision has been made whether to trade Beal. But LA will be in position to make an attractive offer if Beal is put on the block.
There’s also interest in point guard Kyle Lowry, who could be available if the Raptors lose Kawhi Leonard in free agency. Because of Lowry’s age (33) and contract ($33 million for next season), the Lakers could bring him in for a relatively limited outgoing package.
Of course, these are just rumours and the Lakers might not land Beal or Lowry in the summer. After all, by now their Big 3 was supposed to be LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Paul George, but now King James’ name has found itself in trade rumours.
