Joel Embiid had a game for the ages on Wednesday night. He set a career-high in points with 46 and 7 blocks. Embiid made history by becoming the first player since Julius Irving in 1982 with at least 40 points, 7 assists and 7 blocks in a single game.
As good as Embiid was during the game, his post-game interview with Molly Sullivan was even better.
First, Embiid was paid a little visit by comedian and Philadelphia native Kevin Hart. The two teamed up to yell out Embiid’s signature “trust the process” phrase live on national television.
Hart’s videobomb was great and all, but the sneakiness and not-so subtle 69 reference Embiid blurted out later on in that same interview was even more epic. Earlier in the week, the 23-year-old mentioned that he was feeling only 50 percent of his regular self because his conditioning wasn’t up to par.
Check out the stare he gives the camera afterwards.
If Embiid post that statline at only 69 percent, who knows what he’s capable of pouring in when he’s 100 percent healthy. Knowing Embiid, though, he might just stay at 69 after that legendary performance.
The process is definitely processing now. The 76ers are 7-3 in their last ten games to push their record to 8-6 on the season.
