If you haven’t heard, the Toronto Raptors are two wins away from a franchise first NBA Championship. Also, if you haven’t heard, where the heck have you been?

Many Raps fans came into the year believing it was now or never. With LeBron out of the conference, and some guy named Kawhi Leonard coming to town, it was seen as the Raps going all-in for a Championship. Now, they’re pretty darn close.

There’s something different about this Raps team beyond personnel change, though. There is an attitude change. They are no longer playing like underdogs, thrilled by every victory. They are playing like winners, like contenders, some would even say like Champions.

“Some” would include former NBAer and NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins, who has been very involved with the NBA Finals thus far.

Perkins knows winners, and he thinks he sees something, even against a Golden State Warriors team that has won three out of the last four Larry O’Brien trophies.

No smiling, or celebrating. In the same way Game 1 against the Philadelphia 76ers was depicted as a “business-like” win, the Raps know they can’t start sizing out rings just yet.

Still, Canadians like to hear it.
