Coming into Thursday’s match against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Washington Wizards were considered under dogs going up against LeBron’s revamped club.
But that didn’t stop them from putting up a spirited effort, as the Wiz upset the Cavs 110-103 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. With star point guard John Wall sidelined with a knee injury, the Wizards need any sort of contribution of tactical advantage they can get with the absence of their most talented player.
Sometimes, that can mean getting the head of an opponent in hopes of distracting them from their game and forcing a mental mistake.
Kelly Oubre Jr. performed one of the oldest tricks in the books to newly acquired Cav Rodney Hood during a deal ball sequence. Oubre walked by Hood, bent over, and attempted to untie Hood’s shoes, a move that was caught on the Cavs’ jumbotron.
When asked about his antics following the game, Oubre was straight up and honest, and couldn’t help but let off a little giggle when admitting to the trick.
You may remebmber back to when J.R. Smith was tabbed with a $50,000 fine after “recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct” after he undid the laces of Shawn Marion years ago.
Oubre Jr. finished the night with a 17-point performance in the victory, but his real contribution was obviously providing us with this funny moment.
