While Toronto is rejoiced in celebration after winning the NBA Championship, there is a small feeling of anxiousness as the city awaits the decision from superstar Kawhi Leonard.
Throughout the year there have been reports all over the place, leading to different wildly different conclusions. Now that the Raps proved themselves on the court to the highest possible degree, some are saying that it’s a no brainer to re-sign, well others believe that he has nothing left to prove in Toronto and can leave it behind a hero.
We still don’t have an answer for you, but Yahoo Sports Senior NBA Insider Chris Haynes delivered a report that will certainly be encouraging to those hoping for a re-sign.
If the report is indeed credible, it’s an interesting tid bit for Raps fans (and the rest of the NBA) to gnaw on. It would mean that his decision has not been made yet. Take that for what you will, but it does eliminate the feeling of conviction that some have had over his decision, that it was already decided and he just needed to act on it.
It’s possible that Haynes got this information from Kawhi’s uncle Dennis, who he has a relationship with. While it’s certainly not a cut-and-dry reliable source, you would have to believe that he would have more of an idea than most.
None of this, including the Uncle Dennis part, is confirmed. It will be interesting to see how the situation continues to unfold as decision day looms.
