Can you recall the last time a NFL head coach was under as much fire as Jon Gruden is right now?
The 55-year-old defied all odds by helping trade all-star Khalil Mack in a blockbuster trade to the Chicago Bears and fans couldn’t believe the decision. Many have been questioning why someone in their right mind would trade a player who is one year removed from winning Defensive Player of the Year and is in the prime of his career, but here we are, and Gruden has consequently been forced to answer to the media. When touching on the trade, Gruden gave, well, the most Gruden answer you could possibly think of.
Ya think?! Here’s a look at his whole presser.
Fans weren’t the only ones to call out the head coach. Stephen A. Smith took exception to some of Gruden’s comments about the All-Pro in one of his classic rants.
Things got even worse for the Raiders after the team was forced to cut wide receiver Martavis Bryant (who Gruden helped trade a 3rd round pick for) as a result of another failed drug test. PLUS they surrendered another pick for backup QB A.J McCarron.
So now that the business has been dealt with, will it pay off?
