Johnny Manziel will finally start in his first CFL game tomorrow but his agent Erik Burkhardt doesn’t think it’s a good idea.
Burkhardt joined the Comeback SZN podcast, which is STRICTLY dedicated towards his client’s return to football, and didn’t hold back when asked about his thoughts on him starting. Burkhardt called it “insane” considering he’s only participated in around “four practices.” Manziel even jumped in at the end to tell ‘EB’ to calm down.
There’s just a small hint of irony in this whole thing. Burkhardt and Manziel have been waiting tirelessly for the latter to get his first start but when the opportunity is sitting on a platter for the taking, the former is questioning the opportunity. He raises a good point and all but his client doesn’t seem as concerned.
Manziel’s first start will come against his former team that he never even played a game for. What better way to show them what they missed out on than a solid performance on home turf? Hopefully he’s managed to nail down most of the Als' playbook before his big day.
