This season marks the 25th anniversary of the Anaheim Ducks’ existence and the team has a bunch of plans for the 2018-19 campaign including multiple throwback jerseys. Since the team planning on rocking different jerseys from the past throughout the season, John Gibson and Ryan Miller had multiple special edition masks designed for those special nights.

With the team set to hit the ice for their home opener, Gibson unveiled his latest mask that he’ll rock against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night and it might be the best one yet.

The 25-year-old is honouring former Ducks goalie Guy Hebert with his home opener mask as it’s nearly the exact same as the one Hebert rocked with the team during the 1990’s.

Gibson’s mask isn’t an exact replica of Hebert’s, though, as the Pittsburgh native managed to include both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers logo on the front of the mask, as well as Pittsburgh’s skyline.

As cool as the tribute to Hebert is, the sweetest part of the mask might be the backplate, which he made designed to look like the Anaheim Ducks’ name plate on the Stanley Cup.

It should be a good night for Ducks fans as they finally get to see their team in action at home this season, and they’re going to hit the ice in these fantastic throwback jerseys.

The Ducks are certainly starting off their season at home with a bang.
