What a night it was at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday.

The Raptors hosted the 76ers in a Game 7 battle for the ages that couldn’t have ended in more dramatic fashion. As time expired late in the fourth, free agent gem Kawhi Leonard chucked up a prayer for the ages that somehow managed to find mesh after taking a few of the luckiest bounces in NBA history. It was one of those shots that you truly had to see to believe.

While one side couldn’t have been more elated, the other was, as you’d expect after losing a series like that, totally distraught. 76ers star centre Joel Embiid was visibly emotional following the shot but it was his post-game presser that really stood out. The man who’s always stuck to the three words “trust the process” had a bit of a change of heart afterward.

Maybe that was just his emotions speaking…. He was spotted crying as he left the court following the game.

Embiid played a whopping 45 minutes in the loss, finishing the contest with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. As for Kawhi? The 27-year-old posted 41 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in 43 minutes. A perfect picture was captured of the two as the shot travelled through air.

It’s tough to imagine that Embiid won’t be convincing fans to “trust the process’ again when things eventually cool down.
