The Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers met for the first time of the season on Tuesday night and you knew going into the game that it was going to be an exciting one.
Houston managed to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but in the 5th inning the Dodgers went off for five runs. Once Los Angeles took the lead, Joe Kelly turned into everyone’s favourite pitcher in the 6th inning.
Already behind 3-0 on the count, Kelly wrapped up Alex Bregman’s at-bat with a message for the Astros batter. A few batters later Kelly was at it again, this time the victim was Carlos Correa.
After throwing at Correa to send a message, Kelly bounced right back and struck out Correa to end the inning, and that’s when things got heated between the two clubs.
Joe Kelly worked one inning in the game and that was all he needed to win over just about every baseball fan in North America.
The shortened season is going to be a long one for the Astros.
