Jeremy Lin’s playing career in China is off to a strong start. Making his season debut in an away game for the Chinese Basketball Assocation’s Beijing Ducks, he dropped 25 points in front of a raucous Tianjin crowd that was clearly excited for their own Linsanity experience.
Of course, it’s more than just the basketball for Lin in China, and he gave his shoes away to a young fan after the game. Just look at the expression on this kid’s face to see how much it means!
Lin wrote on his Instagram account that he dealt with pregame anxiety that he hadn’t felt in years before stepping on the court in front of the Chinese fans. While the CBA may not be anywhere close to the global platform that the NBA is, there’s no doubt that this experience is emotionally resonant in its own way for Lin.
