Do you enjoy watching people hurt themselves in a variety of unique and different ways?  If the answer is yes, don't feel bad, everyone enjoys watching that.

Shows like 'Wipeout' have been providing people with that kind of entertainment for a long time, but they weren't the first show to do so and they won't be the last.

Seeing as it's Friday, we're going to flashback to 1986, the year the Japanese game show Takeshi's Castle first aired.  The entertaining game show aired until 1990 and to get a sense of what it was all about, check out this video:

Essentially, it was a show in which contestants would have to get through challenges to reach a castle, and as you can see, the challenges were very difficult and amusing.

The show became more popular when it aired in the United Kingdom with english commentary in 2002, but as per IMDB, it only lasted one season.  It also aired in the US on Spike TV as MXC (Most Extreme Elimination Challenge) from 2003-2007.

Fortunately, for all those fans that never got to enjoy the show, it's making a comeback on Comedy Central and the trailer is wonderful.

After watching that, how can you not be pumped up to watch Takeshi's Castle?

Coming soon can't come soon enough.
