At this point, no one knows if Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey will be suiting up against the Denver Broncos this weekend. Amid trade rumours, the 24-year-old has notified the team of feeling ill, a back issue, and now that he is expecting his second child. Many are questioning the timing of the reports, but co-owner Tony Khan has made it clear that its Ramsey’s and the team’s business, and no one else's.
After Jaguars reporter Eugene Frenette questioned Ramsey’s motives on Twitter, Khan shot back, calling the tweet “appalling” and that Frenette was way out of line.
It turns out that Ramsey actually notified head coach Doug Marrone about the birth of his second child months ago. Marrone told reporters that he and Ramsey spoke about the matter and agreed it would be best for him to be with his family during the birth of their daughter.
Although Ramsey wants out of Jacksonville, the Jaguars reportedly have no interest in trading him. Regardless of what’s going on between the two parties, you can’t exactly blame the All-Pro corner for wanting to be with his family during the birth of a child. His status heading into Sunday’s tilt will be one to monitor closely.
