The Toronto Maple Leafs enter Wednesday night’s game against the Edmonton Oilers five points back of first place in the NHL with four games in hand not he league-leading Tampa Bay Lightning.
Jack Campbell will get the start between the pipes for the Leafs and he enters the contest with some of the best stats this season and the new favourite to win the Vezina Trophy.
Campbell’s .939 save percentage and 1.86 goals against average rank first in the league, while his four shutouts are the second-most and his 16 wins are 4th most in the NHL.
If you grabbed Campbell’s odds when they were +2200 then you’re probably feeling pretty good right now. Sure, there’s still plenty of hockey left to play, but Campbell has pretty much picked up where he left off last season and that’s a great sign.
