Going into the 2020-21 NHL season, Frederik Andersen was the undisputed #1 goaltender in Toronto. Behind him, there’s been a carousel of names. Aaron Dell was in Toronto at the beginning of the year, Michael Hutchinson was brought back and has played well, but nobody has been nearly as effective as Jack Campbell.

Campbell has started nine games for the Leafs thus far, and he’s won each and every one of them. In fact, his last loss was before the COVID-19 virus shut down sports over a year ago.

Not bad for a backup. In fact, some Leafs fans are thinking it should be Campbell’s crease even once Freddy Andersen returns from his lower body injury. That much remains to be seen, but for now Leafs fans are just hyped about the franchise record being tied.
