Aside from the uniforms and the faces in the photo, just about every team photo in the history of the NHL looks the exact same. The goalies sit on each end of the first row, sandwiching members of the front office between them and the team’s captains, while players and other front office staff and members of the coaching staff fill out the three rows behind them.
However, since we’ve seen a lot of changes take place throughout the game over the years, the annual team photo might be added to that ever-growing list.
That’s right, the Carolina Hurricanes are holding a contest to give diehard fans a chance to be in this year’s team photo as they’ll earn a spot in the stands right behind where the team is set up on the ice.
We wouldn’t be surprised if this started to pick up around the league.
