With the fast-paced nature of modern society tragedies may receive a lot of attention initially, but what most people don’t see is the recovery process that follows.

Kaleb Dahlgren was one of the 13 survivors but he suffered severe injuries including a skull fracture, a puncture wound push into his skull, two fractured cervical vertebrae and four fractured vertebrae in his back. Doctors had predicted a far worse outcome after doing tests on the severity of injuries – according to the Saskatoon Star Pheonix, Mark Dahlgren explained that based on the pictures the doctors had, similar cases only have a three to five percent chance of healthy recovery.

Now, the Humboldt Broncos are sharing videos of him on his road back to hockey, and it’s already impressive.

Dahlgren’s still got the mitts that helped him put up 32 points in 48 games for the Broncos in the 2017-18 season but crash or no crash, this was Dahlgren’s last year in junior hockey. He has recently posted about his final junior season and has thanked everyone for the support since the crash.

It’s amazing to see how he’s recovered already and it’s been just over a month.

In a blink of an eye your junior hockey career flys by. People always say it’s crazy how fast it goes, well they weren’t lying. Thinking about it more, I have come to realize that it was some of the best years of my life so far! I would just like to thank all of my teammates for our countless and unforgettable memories, all of the coaches for pushing me everyday to be my best and spending hours on end making everyone better, all of the staff and personnel for trying their absolute best to make everyone feel comfortable and helping out wherever is needed, my billet family this year for welcoming me into their home, family, and loving me like I’m one of theirs, to the fans for the endless amount of support and cheering, and to the community of Wilcox and Humboldt for being so friendly. Lastly, thank you to the Notre Dame Junior A Hounds and Humboldt Broncos for allowing me to be a part of your amazing organizations. I am forever thankful that I was able finish my junior career with one of the tightest knit teams I have ever been on! For the rest of my career I will play for the ones lost in the tragedy. I will always honour you by playing with all of my heart and dedicate each game to you guys. Thank you for making my last season one of my best ones yet. #HHH 🔴⚪️ #HumboldtStrong 💚💛

I just want to say thank you. Thank you Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada, The World, and everyone for the endless amount of support. Thank you for all of your prayers and love towards me and all that have been affected by this tragedy. Thank you for all the cards, posters, drawings, banners, gifts, gift cards, leaving your sticks out, and visits. A day doesn’t go by where I don’t think about how thankful I am for all of the messages, support, and love I have received. I am still working through reading all of the messages I have received and I want to thank those who have reached out to me to support me in some way. Also, those that have not tried to contact me and are supporting me from afar, thank you! Once again, thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart💚 #HumboldtStrong
