Just when it looked like the Toronto Maple Leafs were going to advance to the second round to play the Winnipeg Jets, we’re now going back to Toronto for a deciding Game 7 after the Montreal Canadiens took Game 6 in overtime.
With 2,500 fans in attendance and the season on the line, the Habs certainly delivered in front of their first home crowd of the season and you could feel the energy through the screen when they secured the victory.
After scoring just four goals through their first four games of the series, the Habs have now scored seven goals over their past two games and find themselves one win away from a second round tilt with the Jets. However, the Leafs still also find themselves one win away, and hockey fans couldn’t be more excited (and nervous) about hockey’s oldest rivalry going the distance.
You don’t have to like either team to enjoy a good Game 7 between two rivals, and this final game of the series should definitely deliver.
