Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is one of the most hilariously well-known trash-talkers to ever grace the world of sports. The exuberant personality backed up his words on the gridiron, as he is still regarded as one of the most naturally skilled route runners the NFL has ever seen.
Mash those two elements together and you get one really entertaining football player. His entertainment value, however, has gone far past his playing days.
Recently, Ochocinco stepped into the ring for a boxing exhibition ahead of Logan Paul vs. Floyd Mayweather. Beyond that, he’s always active on social media, and never afraid to make… let’s call them “bold takes.”
His latest had to do with a different sport entirely; hockey!
Not really sure where the comparison came from, but on the surface we can spot a few differences.
Datsyuk is a four-time recipient of the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, awarded to the NHLer who best exemplifies sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct while playing at a high level.
Ochocinco, on the other hand, has been fined $20K for pretending to bribe a ref, an additional $30K for a celebration involving a sombrero and a poncho, another $25K for an in-game tweet, and an assortment of other fines totally $115K.
It's not the only time Ochocinco has ventured into the hockey world. Even more recently, he took a side in the Isles/Bolts series. And who can forget his Mike Tyson meeting in a Golden Knights jersey?
Anyway, if he was looking to stir up reaction with his Datsyuk tweet, he did so very successfully.
