Manning Team Canada’s bench during the World Juniors is a dream come true, and head coach Tim Hunter knows he’s going to have one of the strongest rosters when action kicks off on Boxing Day. The only hill he has to climb until then is actually trimming down his roster.

Canada recently announced its 34 player selection camp and the coaching staff hasn’t wasted any time making the blueprint for their squad. The team conducted its first practice today and Hunter seems pretty impressed so far from the looks of it. He perfectly summed up basically every coach’s feeling at this time of the year…

Yup, that must be nice Tim!

If you haven’t taken a look yet, Canada has some insane talent fighting for their right to represent their country in BC. Here’s a look at the goalies, defencemen and forwards at camp.

Canada will ultimately select 23 players on its final rosters and will try to win gold on home soil for the first time since 2015. Camp concludes on December 14 so time will tell how things shake out.
