The Las Vegas Golden Knights won their eighth game of the season on Friday night when they crushed the Colorado Avalanche 7-0 at home.
For how impressive the team is on the ice, the team has made sure its off ice contributions to the city of Las Vegas following the horrific shooting that claimed the lives of 59 have been nothing short of spectacular.
Prior to puck drop on Friday, Golden Knights owner Bill Foley announced that the Golden Knights Foundation is donating $1 million to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation, and the victims of the October 1st shooting.
The foundation is “dedicated to supporting programs that help keep our community safer. Programs that prevent crime, save lives and make our Country a safer place to live, work and play.”
Vegas will play eight of their next nine games on the road after playing seven straight games at home. The team now has many wins as the Oilers, Rangers, Coyotes and Canadiens combined. They currently sit second in the Pacific division with 16 points in nine games played and own the league’s best winning percentage at .889.
