Jacob Markstrom may have earned his way into some pretty huge money. After a 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs in which Markstrom was debatably the best goalie through two rounds, the end of the ‘Nucks season means they have to focus on a general manager’s worst nightmare: signing that goalie.

Part of what makes it difficult is that it took Markstrom a while to round into form. While he was a promising prospect, there were some struggles at the beginning of his career that make it a little more difficult to dish out the bag.

For former Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack, he thinks Vancouver GM Jim Benning should just do it.

As a former goaltender, he may be a little biased. Saying that, it’s hard to argue with Markstrom’s dominance in the clutch this postseason.
