Johnny Manziel’s short stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats has come to an end.
TSN’s Duane Forde reported this evening that Hamilton reached a deal with Montreal to send the former Heisman Trophy winner over via trade. With the Als, he’ll now have a shot at starting a few games, considering the offence has struggled immensely so far this season.
Fans obviously had a few words to say about the move, and Manziel’s overall cup of tea in Hamilton.
With a league worst 1-4 record and starting QB Drew Willy leaving last night’s game against the Calgary Stamperders, Montreal's starting QB job seems to be up for the taking. Time will tell how the deal turns out for both teams, but Montreal needed some sort of spark and they may have received it in the 25-year-old.
