It’s hard to know what country appreciates Erik Karlsson more: The one he plays for nationally or the one he’s plays 95% of his games in.
Instead of watching NHL players compete in the Olympics this year, we’ve been cheering alongside NHL players for our respective countries. As anyone would expect, Erik Karlsson has been enthusiastically cheering on his home country, Sweden. Unfortunately for him, they were just eliminated by a shocking upset from the German squad.
Karlsson tweeted out his feelings about the loss and stated who he’ll be supporting from here on out.
Funny enough, most of the talk surrounding Karlsson puts into question where his second home will be by next year. Whether it’s before the trade deadline or in the summer, trade rumours about a potential Karlsson trade and just by the amount of teams that could trade for him, America might be his new home.
So, Canada should enjoy Karlsson’s support while they have it, because who knows if they’ll ever get it again.
