The NHL 100 classic provided a great hockey game for spectators that braved the cold weather at Landsdowne Park in Ottawa on Saturday night. 33, 959 fans packed the park in what was a sellout.
Senators defenceman Erik Karlsson has made headlines the past few weeks because of his candid comments about not taking anything less than he’s worth on the open market when he becomes a free agent. The two-time Norris Trophy winner submitted his 10-team no trade list to management in what was merely just a contractual formality.
Karlsson was a beast in the classic, playing a game high 32:55 while picking up his 19th assist of the season. More importantly, captain Karlsson was in high spirits, and wasn’t going to let any off-ice distractions of letting him enjoy the outdoor battle.
If you like GIFs, and are a hockey fan, then you likely saw the amount of content Karlsson was providing for the hockey world. It’s a jolly time of year, and Karlsson’s mood was as good as we’ve ever seen him.
Does that really look like someone that wants to leave Ottawa?
