Football is not coming home, but England fans arenโt reacting as poorly as some might expect of a country that is known from some rowdy fans.
While it no doubt would have been a huge draw to see France vs. England in the World Cup Final, the team went much further than anyone expected in the tournament. With a strong showing in the group stage and an easier road to the semi-finals, they were able to surprise a lot of people and really inspire a lot of hope. Despite leading for most of regular time, fans were still staying pretty optimisic.
That was shown in the reaction to the extra-time loss.
Of course, while England fans reacted well, there was still the side of the soccer world that is forever against Englandโs success, so they made sure to have some fun with the teamโs loss as well (Ourselves included).
