Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long launched his own foundation in 2015 to help raise money for the Waterboys Initiative dedicated to building wells in East Africa and now he's using his foundation to help out kids in Charlottesville, Virginia.
On Tuesday, the former second overall pick announced that he'll be donating his first six game checks from this season to fund scholarships at his former high school, St. Anne's-Belfield School.
The one-time Super Bowl champion released a statement through The Chris Long Foundation on Tuesday, and mentioned that the events that transpired in his hometown over the summer helped make his decision easier.
Long signed a two-year, $4.5 million deal with the Eagles back in March and contributes to different initiatives in Africa, Charlottesville, St. Louis, and also helps veterans across the United States through his foundation.
