When tragedy strikes, it is up to everyone to get through the devastation together. Vegas, Nevada was the site of one of the largest tragedies in recent history, when a gunman opened fire from a hotel window and took the life of 58 individuals, while injuring many more.

The repercussions have been heartbreaking, but the support and unity that has resulted has helped to handle the blow. On Saturday, Vegas honoured the 58 victims who lost their life by officially retiring the #58 jersey from ever being worn.

The touching ceremony comes on the heels of Vegas officially clinching an NHL playoff spot in their first ever season, and you can bet that some of that motivation came as a result of trying to bring something positive to the city.

Classy move from the new franchise.
