The end of the NBA regular season is nearing an end and while playoffs are right around the corner, a lot of the focus and debates at the moment surround who’s going to take home this year’s Rookie of the Year award

All year long Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons has been the front runner, but Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell turned things up in November to make one of the most interesting races for the award. Ahead of the Jazz’s game against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, Mitchell showed up wearing a very interesting sweater that featured the definition of the word ‘rookie’.

Made it 🙃

The definition on the hoodie reads; “An athlete playing his or his first season as a member of a professional sports team.”

Donovan Mitchell went there... 😳

Obviously Mitchell believes he deserves to be this year’s Rookie of the Year and used his sweatshirt to let everyone know. If you’re wondering what it all means, Ben Simmons was taken 1st overall in the 2016 NBA Draft but missed all of last season with a foot injury, while Mitchell went 13th overall this past summer.

Who do you think deserves this year’s award?
