In some surprising news out of the football world, the CFL and the XFL have announced that they will be exploring opportunities for alignment together.

There’s still much to be determined, but one of the first things that sticks out right away is the possibility that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson that reconnects with his CFL roots.

While we all know The Rock for his career as a wrestler and then as an actor, he was a college football player for the University of Miami before all of that.

In 1995, he had a cup of coffee with the Calgary Stampeders. However, he was cut from the team a few months into his first season without making an in-game appearance.

After all this time, it would be cool to see The Rock come full circle with the CFL. There’s still a lot of things up in the air... but other CFL players are having some fun with the news, at the least.
